We hit the ground running thanks to the support of our professional network – we are grateful for your trust in us. With that trust we established reliable, local specialty engineering services, while also contributing to the success of numerous commercial and residential projects.
Long Engineering opened its doors in 2018.

Since then, we have successfully completed over 250 projects.

Our history as structural engineers spans more than 20 years, includes expertise in all major project sectors, and experience with a wide range of project complexity. We also hold a uniquely diverse work experience history – we come from a variety of AEC office settings with roles as department leaders, department founders, and practice partners.

Thanks to our career paths and the people we collaborated with along the way, we have valuable insight into and respect for the nuances and challenges our AEC partners face as we work together for our client’s success.

Our founder Benjamin J. Long, PE has practiced structural engineering for over two decades. In addition to traditional structural engineering, Ben is skilled in construction engineering and performing structural investigations.

Having started his career during the .com internet boom of the late 90s, he experienced massive changes in how projects are delivered and has successfully demonstrated agility and adaptability to these challenges and others. These traits carry over into how Ben collaborates with our clients. Project parameters are most often not stagnate, but dynamic – designs, deadlines, and even key players change. He gets on board and keeps things moving. Ben is on the pulse of trends in project delivery methods and has monitored their evolution to inform his own business strategy — all to give you exceptional, cost effective solutions.

Ben is an experienced deep ocean diver – a skill that requires a leap of faith and skilled maneuvering within the laws of nature.
